The Hellenic Navy’s century-old battle cruiser “Georgios Averof” which now serves as a floating museum is back from an extensive maintenance period. After spending over 60 years as a museum ship, the battle cruiser has its hull and upper deck refurbished and interior areas totally renovated. Our team has used 3D scanning technology (ScanStation P40) and high accuracy industrial total station (TDRA6000) to accurately collect, a dense dataset.

Easy laser systems - alignment systems

Within the process industry, operations usually occur 24 hours a day, all year round. This places extremely high demands on preventative maintenance work. With Easy-Laser® laser measurement systems it is possible to optimize the operation of your machines, not only through alignment, but also via vibration checks. This results in less downtime and lower maintenance costs. For large, energy intensive industries the electricity costs can be reduced dramatically thanks to correctly aligned machines.

Ballast water treatment installation

METRICA is proud to announce its synergy with field experts - United Naval Architects (UNA), NAV Marine PTE Ltd., SimFWD P.C.  in order to provide high quality services in Ballast Water Treatment Installation projects. The four top rated companies have joined forces to provide unique services supporting shipping companies in various sectors such as the compliance with the Ballast Water Management (BWM) Convention. Our team assists companies from the very beginning – become familiar with the BWTs technologies – till the end of the process – BWTs installation with a very professional and efficient way.  Follow the link to see more.

Alignment measurements

Turkey, May 21017 – Our team has just completed alignment services on a new building 80m long luxurious yacht. The series of measurements included alignment of v-brackets, stern tube and gearboxes in dry dock conditions. The final measurements which were realized in afloat conditions included the alignment of the engines using as reference the pre-aligned gearboxes. Both propulsion systems are perfectly aligned with the use of system Easy-Laser® E710.

3D scanning & 3D modeling

Oinofyta, Viotia, May 2017 - State of the art geodetic instrumentation such as laser scanner technology – Leica ScanStation P40 - and industrial total station – Leica TDRA6000 - were utilized in order to capture and reconstruct via solid and other geometric primitives, two manipulator units of Hellenic Aluminium Industry S.A.. In a time period of 2 days the units were measured and uploaded to the specialized modeling and point cloud processing software's for the final production of the detailed 3D Model. Stay tuned for more details!

Aluminium of Greece, 2017 – Alignment measurements of a series of charge and discharge rollers on a continuous homogenizing furnace (Hertwich Engineering – SMS Group). The roller lines of a homogenizing furnace walking beam system were horizontally and vertically aligned. Totally 19 rollers were geometrically inspected and adjusted for possible misalignments and positioned to the proper offsets to compensate for future thermal expansion. All measurements were taken with the usage of a high – end industrial total station Leica TDRA6000, spherical reflectors & measurement tools which were designed for this project. Read more...

Demo Presentation - SYMETAL

Our team has realized demo presentation under real circumstances in SYMETAL premises. The measurements concerned the GD&T inspection of a mechanical part and were realized with Hexagon Laser Tracker AT402 and metrology software Spatial Analyzer by our well trained engineers. Event - Presentation - seminar

We are pleased to announce the success of our presentation which took place in Lloyd's Register premises in Limassol, Cyprus on Wednesday 26th April 2017 at 6.30pm. The presentation referred to the smart use of 3D laser scanning & industrial theodolite in marine applications and underlined the benefits which come up from innovative methodologies and well performed projects.
We would like to thank all attendees for their interest and, especially Cyprus Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Association for their trust, their great help and support.

DNV training

Our team of experts has just realized a training course regarding the use of Easy Laser Systems to the members of technical staff of DNV GL. The main purpose of the course was the understanding of Easy Laser Technology in depth. During the course the attendees learnt more about how every system works, examined their functionality, familiarized with the use in relevant applications and much more.

We are happy to announce the successful presence of our representatives in the East Med Marine and Oil & Gas Exhibition which took place on the 6th and 7th of April at the GrandResort Hotel in Limassol. The exhibition was proudly supported by the Cyprus Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works. The Department of Merchant Shipping, The Cyprus Shipping Chamber, The Cyprus Oil & Gas Association, Limassol Municipality and The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology. We would like to thank all people that met our team and we wish that prosperous collaborations arise for all!

easy laser systems

France, Marseille, March 2017 - Our team has just realized measurements for alignment inspection of both propulsion systems on luxurious yacht with the usage of Easy Laser alignment systems. Measurements have shown misalignment issues that have to be fixed, to avoid further problems and possible early wear of parts. Correction guidance will take place in dry dock conditions after a list of requirements that our team suggested in order to increase the efficiency of the process.
